As an organization that works with children and youth, the most important responsibility we carry is to keep them safe from harm while they are in our care. It is a responsibility we take very seriously. 

At Faith Wesleyan, we are diligent to screen, train and closely supervise our volunteers. Our Children and Youth Policy and Procedure Handbook guides this process. Currently, all volunteers must:

1. Attend church for at least six months prior to volunteering.
2. Be interviewed by a staff member. 
3. Complete an application to serve. 
4. Provide proof of clear background checks. 
5. Be trained in the Policy and Procedure Manual. 
6. Serve under direct supervision. 

The following links will be helpful in obtaining the background checks required under PA Act 153. If you do not have a credit card, are unable to pay for the reports, or do not have a printer, please contact the church office at 570-322-3547 and we will assist you in securing these necessary documents.

• Federal (FBI) Criminal History (select Department of Human Services when prompted)

PLEASE NOTE:  If you have lived continuously in the state of Pennsylvania for the past 10 years and you are serving as a volunteer, you do not need to submit the Federal Criminal History Record. Instead, you will sign a Clearance Exemption Disclosure Statement. These are also available at the church.
