In chapter 10 of Mark’s gospel, a teacher of the law asks Jesus, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” Jesus replies, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself” (vv. 28-31).

Our Youth Ministry desires to partner with students in sixth through 12th grade and their families to equip them to better love God and others.

We hope to send an increasing number of students into post-high school life who are able to accurately articulate their faith, are spiritually disciplined, make wise decisions, form healthy relationships and effectively participate in ministry.

Sunday Morning Studies are held during the 9 and 10:45 a.m. Worship Celebrations, after the prayer time. Students are exposed to the narrative of the Bible and helped to read and understand Scripture. Students regularly participate in the sermon time as well, especially on holidays and special occasions.

Youth Nights are held Sunday evenings from 6-8 p.m. during the school year and consist of fellowship, teaching, and small-group discussion. Ongoing studies focus on how faith in Jesus Christ affects our actions, decisions, relationships, and futures.

Special Activities are held throughout the year. Recently, our students have spent a week at our District Youth Camp, attended concerts, music festivals, conferences, all-nighters and served at several local community organizations. The youth are also an active part of the church, volunteering in children’s ministry and worship teams, taking part in workdays and outreach opportunities, and enjoying events like Knoebels Day and camping.

The Young Adult Ministry provides a connecting point for individuals in post-high school, college, the military or the workforce. In addition to being an active part of church life, young adults have participated in special interest studies, fellowship events, travelled to concerts and attended programs such as the annual Jubilee conference in Pittsburgh, Pa.
