ID Youth Ministry for Grades 6 - 12

The Youth Ministry of Faith Wesleyan Church is known as Identity Youth (ID Youth).  We take our name from Ephesians 2:10, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."  We believe it is important for students to learn who God is and who they are in Christ.  This knowledge enables them to carry out the call God has placed on their lives.

Our purpose is to be a place where students can believe, belong, and become in Jesus Christ!  We accomplish our purpose by providing basic training in the five transformational graces:  Word, Prayer, Spirit, Body, and Mission, and cultivating healthy relationships at the crowd, group, and core levels.  Knowledge of these graces and relational depth are essential for life-long missional discipleship.

We encourage and empower young people to learn and share the good news of Christ with others through love, service, and lives that honor God.  We strive to challenge students to grow in their relationship with Christ and their knowledge of God's Word.  We aim to equip students to stand firm when their faith is tested, have the courage to share their faith with others, and give their lives in service to Christ.  We hope to send an increasing number of students into our community who are able to articule their faith, demonstrate spiritual discipline, make wise decisions, form healthy relationships, and effectively participate in the mission of God.

Sunday Mornings

Students have the opportunity to be part of the church family on Sunday mornings during either of the celebration services.  Students are encouraged to participate in all aspects of the worship service.  The youth are actively part of the church.  They can be found volunteering in children's ministry, serving on the worship team, and taking part in other church projects.

Sunday Evenings

Youth-specific events are held Sunday evenings and consist of fellowship, teaching, and small group discussion.  Ongoing studies focus on how faith in Jesus Christ affects our actions, decisions, and relationships.

Special Events

Special events and activities are held throughout the year.  We participate in the Northeast District events such as the Fall Nighter (October/November), Excel (March), District Youth Camp (July), and Follow (every 4 years).  Throughout the year, there will be opportunities to attend off-site fellowship events.  In the past, our students have served with Habitat for Humanity, attended concerts, music festivals, conferences, and have served with several local community organizations.
